Toilet 是马桶，那国人最熟悉的 W.C 是什么呢，WC 其实是 Water Closet 的简称，也就是厕所。在很久以前，厕所（Toilet）的里面都会有一个水箱（water closet），人们一提起 water closet 就想到了 toilet，所以后来就习惯性用 water closet 来表示厕所。为了方便，人们就用 water closet 的开头字母 WC 来代替 toilet。但现在外国人几乎不会用 WC 来表达厕所了，在英美国家，这是一种很粗俗的表达。而现在文雅正常说法一般是公众场合的厕所卫生间叫 restroom 可不是休息室，家用的厕所卫生间叫 bathroom，也可混用，没有大毛病。用这两个词一定不会错。
想上厕所的表达：
I have to go to the restroom/bathroom.
I have to pee.尿尿
I have to poop.拉屎
pee 和 poop 一般都是形容小孩子上厕所
