glance at,stare at,gaze at 都有“看”的意思。
stare at 指由于好奇、无礼傲慢而睁大眼睛“凝视”
glance at 意为“迅速的一看；一瞥”；
gaze at 指由于兴趣、感慨、喜欢或惊奇而目不转睛的“凝视”。
Why are you staring at me？
你干嘛盯着我看？
He glanced at the audience, and began to speak.
他环视了一下听众，便开始讲话。
She gazed at the words and find a mistake
她一直凝视着那些字，找出了一个错误

有好几种表示忍受的方式
1、stand：多用于口语中，常用于否定句中
I can't stand to tell you the lie
我受不了再对你撒谎
2、bear：指在精神或身体上承受某种痛苦，也可指承担某种责任。
Can you bear hearing the bad news？你能承受听到坏消息吗？
3、tolerate：指忍受某人或某种行为而不反抗，语气最弱（即可用于肯定句也可用于否定句）。
She can tolerate that rude guy。
她能容忍那个粗鲁的人
4、put up with：指耐心“忍受”，含有“宽恕”、“不计较”之意，多用于口语和较小的事情
